The Rise and Fall of Justin Bieber

Back in 2010, when “Baby” was on top of the charts, everyone had Bieber fever. They saw him as this young Canadian boy, discovered on YouTube by a famous producer. He was hugely famous, and then had a big roadblock in his career. Things started going downhill fast, with him egging his neighbors house and getting a DUI. Some beliebers kept on supporting him, while many started to dislike him.

Before his first arrest in 2014, Bieber had many brush-ups with the law. In 2012, he was accused of reckless driving in his neighborhood. In 2013,  he was charged in Brazil with vandalism. One of his neighbors in Calabasas accused Bieber of egging his house on January 9, 2014, and causing thousands of dollars of damage. Shortly after that, on January 23 he was arrested in Miami with his friend for DUI. He was also arrested for driving with an over six month expired license, and resisting arrest.

Just recently, Bieber has started to try and clean up his act. He released a comeback album, titled Purpose and announced a tour. With three singles topping the Billboard Hot 100, and taking home his first Grammy, Bieber has changed what people think of him. Even with some bumps in the road, including walking off the stage in Philly and going barefoot around a Boston park, Bieber has put on a number of impressive shows for his fans and continues to do so.

It’s hard growing up in the spotlight, as demonstrated by Amanda Bynes and Miley Cyrus. Bieber has publicly apologized to his fans on Ellen and tried to make up for all of his crimes. Time will tell if Bieber can continue to produce chart-topping songs and put his past behind him, starting fresh with both his music and himself.
