Switching from the Wii U

Nintendo has always had a legacy of making great consoles (not counting the Virtual Boy). The Nintendo Entertainment System resurrected gaming, the Nintendo 64 revolutionized 3D gameplay, and the Nintendo Wii perfected motion controls. As Nintendo has a history of incredible consoles, it causes hype every time they announce a new console, and never has that been more true than with the Nintendo Switch.

They Nintendo Switch (originally named the NX) will be the next Nintendo console. It’s launch date is scheduled for March third 2017. The system will work as a home console and a hand-held system. The Switch will have its own console, but its controllers are remotes that attach onto a game pad that looks very reminiscent to an iPad. However, unlike the Wii U game pad, the Switch game pad can be taken anywhere and still be able to play. The controllers will also have motion controls like the Wii remote.

The games on the Nintendo Switch will not come on discs, but instead small cartridges. The games on the switch have all had mixed reception. Some games have had lots of hype, while others have been thought of as gimmicky or mediocre.
