Any Harry Potter fan would know that there are four different Hogwarts houses, which new students are sorted into among arrival. These houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each of these houses have their own unique traits and skills. So we decided to sort some of our teachers into these houses, if they didn’t already know.
First is a little more background on the Harry Potter houses. Gryffindor values bravery and chivalry, and it’s house colors are Maroon and Gold. Some famous people from Gryffindor include Harry Potter himself, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. Ravenclaw values wit and intelligence and it’s colors are blue and silver or blue and bronze (the book to movie adaptations are different). A well-known Ravenclaw is Luna Lovegood. Slytherin values ambition and being cunning, and it’s colors are dark green and silver. Some Slytherins include Draco Malfoy and Lord Voldemort himself. Hufflepuff is the final house which values kindness, loyalty, friendship and generosity. It’s colors are black and yellow, and some famous Hufflepuffs are Nymphadora Tonks and Cedric Diggory. Now with that out of the way, let’s get onto the sorting.
The first person that we sorted was Julie Marren. She is in the Classics Department and teaches Latin starting from 7th Grade. She has worked at GFS for many years. She took a sort quiz, and after some discussion we decided that she should be in Ravenclaw. As a teacher, and a person, she values learning, so naturally Ravenclaw be a suitable option, and would make sense.
The second person we sorted was Emmett. He is a sixth grade assistant teacher, and new this year. When asked what his Hogwarts house was, he replied Hufflepuff, stating, “I’m more of a sidekick figure, not very charismatic.”
The third person we sorted was Dana Weeks, the Head of School. After a brief conversation a quiz, she said she would be Ravenclaw. Like Julie, we thought that this would make sense, especially because one of her favorite characters is Luna Lovegood, a Ravenclaw.
